- These comments are the funniest thing I've seen on this site in a while! I taught nursing for years and there was no procedure more dreaded by the female students than being assigned to bathe an older man.

- I totally agree...make the assignment shift for that day only to keep the peace. Once that shift was over, though, administration should have had the guts to inform the dad that his wishes would be considered but would not be policy on what nurse was assigned.

- Mondays and Fridays are bad appointment days...Monday has alot of walk-ins who were sick over the weekend and Friday has alot of folks trying to not be sick over a weekend. The best bet is Tuesday through Thursday when the office re-opens after lunch.

- I'm not sure most people can smell themselves...I certainly hope not with all the patients I have that come in stinking! So they'd probably rather be safe than sorry.

- This article makes it sound as if the physician is giving the immunization. Never in my life have I seen a doctor give a shot and I've been in healthcare for 25 years...of course the nurse makes a better vaccine advocate.

- I'm a nurse practitioner and alot of things bother me but mostly it's the smells. Please don't give up on the advice that your mother gave you...before going to the doctor you should bathe, change into clean clothes, and brush your teeth.
